How is growth calculated?
The calculator converts your assumed annual return after fees into an equivalent monthly growth rate, then adds your contribution at the end of each month. Growth compounds and all investment income is assumed to be reinvested. The same return applies throughout the period.
What do the three results mean?
Total money invested is your starting amount plus all monthly contributions. Investment growth or loss is the difference between that amount and your projected final balance. It is not a guaranteed profit.
What is not included?
Tax, withdrawals and changing market returns are not modelled. Fees must already be reflected in the return you enter. Inflation is optional and only adjusts the separate today’s-dollar result. This calculator does not assess risk or the suitability of any investment.
Illustrative planning only. Results depend on your inputs and are not forecasts, guarantees or personalised financial advice. Investment values can fall.
